Analysis of UNCUT double page spread.

This double page spread is dominated by the artwork from The Beatles "yellow submarine" album and the lyrics "nothing is real". The world "real2 has been distorted so it gives the effect of the "psychedelic" movement that the Beatles where apart of. And as the song is about drugs, which also reflects on the distorted "real".

They is a little introduction to the article which is in larger font then the rest of the text. The article could be informing the audience about the band, the bands newest release or an interview could carry on to the following page.

Anaylsis of UNCUT contents page.

The contents page of UNCUT magazine basically lists what is in the magazine issue, and then gives the audience a bit extra information on that topic

The page is halved with the list of what is in the issue, and the other half are pictures of bands or artists that are in the issue.

"REVIEWS", which is under the picture section, has got 3 different subtitles, music, movies and books, saying that they dont just do music, which will increase their audience.

Analysis of UNCUT front cover.

On all issues of UNCUT magazine, the mast head is in the same place, the top of the page and going across the whole page. The front of the masthead is bold and bright, so it stands out, making it easier to spot. Just above the masthead "Free CD!- 18-TRACK GUIDE TO THE MONTH'S BEST MUSIC", this would attract people to buy the magazine if they wasn't regular buyers of it.
Under the masthead, "Music,Movies & Books" has been put there to say that the magazine isnt just about music.
The photo of the The Clash and the " THE CLASH" title are the most dominate on this cover, which suggests that in this issue, The Clash have a large part of the magainze covering them. The Photo used has the band members very close to one and other, like how a band should be.
Like on other music magazines, it tells the readers what else is in that certain issue.

Analysis of Q Magazine double-page spread.

The Layout of this double page spread is dominated by the photograph on the right hand page of the band, which suggests that the photo is the main piece of this article. On both pages dark colours and tones dominate. The title-" STEP INSIDE ROCK AND ROLLS OWN FIGHT CLUB" reflects 0n how the bands appearance, which has been made to look like they have just been in a fight with the use of make up.

The font colour used on the left hand side are yellow and white, which works well with the dark background as it makes it stand out. In the top left hand corner the bands name is grey bold font, its not very eye catching, but its there if you don't know the appearance of the band(even though most people would), you would look for the band name.

I think the layout has made to look simple, but professional at the same time. A full page photograph, and a page telling you about the band is enough for a double page spread, it isn't packed and over crowded with words, and its easy to look at because of the colours.

Analysis of Q Contents page.

This contents page is a double page spread, as it takes two pages. At the top the page the Q logo has almost been faded out, and "Contents" is placed over it as a masthead.
"ON THE COVER"-On the first page(left page) is like an introduction to the Main article/ interview in this issue, and underneath the introduction, it lists the other features/bands/artists and brief description of the articles include and the page numbers. There are two smaller photos in the bottom left hand corner of the page, these are unrelated to the headlines and there is no text which tells you their position in the magazine. This tells you the magazine is trying to include as much as they can on to the contents page as possible.
The right hand page is almost mirrored from the opposite one, but different information and photo.

Analysis of Front Cover of Q Magazine.

In Every issue of Q magazine, the Q logo is in the top left hand corner, which makes it easier to notice it when looking for it. Under the logo, it says " A different take music" which suggests they take music more seriously then other music magazines, its like it separates Q magazine from the rest.
The whole cover is Dominated By the Photo of Angus Young, as that is the only photo on the front cover. This suggests that this issue is mainly about Angus Young and his band, ACDC, and "ACDC ROCK-EXAMINING ANGUS YOUNG" supports this. The photo has been taken professionally and in a studio. The pose is also iconic as that was what Angus Young did on stage. On the front cover it also has"ALL NEW LOOK ISSUE" in the top right hand corner, suggesting that they have a new or different layout from previous issues.
