Finished project with analysis.

Front Cover.

During the making of my music magazine, i had to think what would make my magazine appeal to my intended audience.

i placed my masthead at the top of the front cover, a convention of magazines. i didn't want the photo or anything else to cover the masthead up, even though that is often used in magazines.

Another way to make a music magazine appeal to its intended audience is to include bands that are popular, which will make the audience buy the magazine. so i included bands that are popular within the genre i am doing. I wanted my magazine to stand out and to be bold, but not to be over colourful and bright, so i used neutral colours that aren't over powering.

The price of the magazine and the issue number is placed in the top right hand corner. This is a convention of magazines, so the audience will know where to look for it. Because i have made the navigation of my magazine front cover easy and simple, it would encourage the audience to buy it.

I think the most Eye catching part of my front cover is the main photo. It shows the band i am covering and i have also put the band logo on the front cover, it is difficult to read, but as it is their logo and fans will recognise is, it makes it appropriate.

I placed the bar code at the top left hand corner which is also a convention and makes it easier to find.
Contents page.

I placed my masthead on the bottom left hand corner of my magazine as it is a convention of music magazines.

At the top of the page i put "IN THIS WEEKS ISSUE..." which a convention of magazines and used a lot, and it also leads into the editors letter and the page listings and whats on them.

I think my Contents page is quite unconventional as i haven't seen a photo on the background of a contents page of any music magazine i have looked at. But i still think it works really well.

i used a white font so the audience could read it, because i edited the photo to black and white, the font was difficult to read in black.

the page listings are in two columns and the editors letter in the top right hand corner, the layout is fairly simple and is easy to follow. the editors letter basically tells the audience what is in this issue.
Double page spread.

For my double page spread i decided on using only two colours, black and white. The most important feature in my music magaizines double page spread is the photograph as is shows the band and shows who they are, so i thought using one whole page for one photo would be the best idea. I thought if used to much text on both pages, it would me to much, so decided to keep it as one page text, one page photo.
